Question: This is all NEW TO US. Where do I start?
Question: My child was on dance team last season, do they have to audition for this season?
Answer: YES. Members will be selected based on staff recommendations during auditions.
Question: If my child misses a class will she be able to make it up?
Answer: Yes. Momentum will allow up to 2 weeks following an absence for student make ups. Student will need to check in at front desk, confirm absence and setup a makeup session.
Question: Can I pay my tuition for the whole year upfront?
Answer: Yes. Momentum will continue to honor the 20% discount for paying tuition in full for the 2011-2012 dance year upfront. Anyone paying the tuition in full will need to pay in full no later than Sept 2nd to receive 20% discount. After Sept 2nd, no further discount will be honored for the 2011-2012 season.
Question: Can I pay for my costumes ahead of time?
Answer: No. We will set a date for costume money to be turned. If you have the money, set it aside, and turn in when the studio collects for costumes. Single class costumes for 2010-2011 year averaged $100. It is currently uncertain of any major changes in the pricing structure for 2011-2012.
Question: How long will the 2011-2012 dance year be?
Answer: Classes will start on August 8th 2011. Classes will continue through June 2012. Recital week is Wednesday May 30 2012 through Saturday June 2 2012. The Dance recital location is College of Sequoias Theater
Question: Do I have to pay for missed classes due to holidays, student absence or studio closure?
Answer: Yes. Tuition is based on a set rate for 4 weeks. If we are in a month with 5 weeks, you will not be charged more than your set rate of 4 weeks. If your child misses a class due to a holiday, absence or studio closure, it is the responsibility of the student and or parent to make arrangements for a make up session upto two weeks after the absence.
Question: Can my child take private lessons?
Answer: Momentum will do our best to provide private lessons with requested instructor, days and times. There are no guarantees.
Question: How much will a private lesson cost?
Answer: The cost depends on the instructors' hourly price. Please contact the specific instructor you are interesting in for further information.
Question: Can my child compete in a solo, duet or trio?
Answer: All solos, duets, trios or small groups are determined by Momentum Staff. If your child is selected to be part of a small group we will need consent from parent.
Question: I have a 2 year old that I would like register for Tiny Tots. Does she have to be potty trained?
Answer: Ideally it is preferred that they are potty trained before they start however, we will still allow placement as long as a parent or guardian is present in the lobby area. We recommend that a parents or guardians for children between 2-4 years be present in the lobby during the entirety of class as some children may require bathroom use or may need to step out because of crying.
Question: What happens if I am late picking up my child?
Answer: Momentum understands there are hectic times during the day. We prefer that students are picked up within 15 minutes following their last class. Students will never be left without an adult present but keep in mind, late pick ups of student will result in extra fees in excess of 30 minutes.
Question: Where is a copy of the Parent Studio Agreement?
Answer: Momentum Dance Academey has all parent studio agreements on file for the 2011-2012 dance year. Starting in 2012, all contract agreements will be handled online through digital signatures. Dates of signature can be retrieved by MDA office staff and forwarded to the requestee. When necessary to renew signatures on changes to contract language, parents will be prompted to submit renewed digital signatures through their parent portal access. The specific language in the contract can be viewed in the parent portal tab labeled "policies". A copy of the physical contract used to start the 2011-2012 dance year is available: HERE
